This clinic will have a concentrated focus on individual skills including skating, passing, stick handling and shooting. Each session will include an off-ice and on-ice training session. Off-ice will be hockey specific training and stretching, reinforcing to players how critical good form is to maximize gains away from the ice.
Leading the clinic will be Robert Fail, Co-Coach for the U18 Thunder AAA club, along with Roman Marakhovski, head coach of the 98 AAA Thunder. Heading up the goaltending clinic will be Al Blevins, goaltending coach for the professional Gwinnett Gladiators in the ECHL and also serves as one of the AAA Thunder goaltending consultants. Sessions will work on skating, footwork and playing the puck, a skill essential to today’s goaltenders.
All of the TPH staff are full time professional hockey coaches and strive to provide players with teaching points that are sure to improve performance on the ice. Players will leave this clinic having performed skill specific drills critical to overall improvement. Small games and battles will also be present. When working in stations or groups, players will be placed with other players of similar skill to maximize the experience.
