The Thunder AAA Hockey Club is very pleased to announce that this Saturday the organization will play host to USHL Commissioner Skip Prince and Manager of Hockey Operations Tony Gill.  We are very fortunate to have this opportunity as the USHL is the top Junior Hockey League in the country and serves as the number one league for developing players for NCAA Division I college hockey.  The seminar time and information is below and the formal press release from the USHL Commissioner Skip Prince is below.  Although the seminars only state they are open for certain birth years, all Thunder parents that are interested in attending are welcome to from any team in the organization.  Also, alumni parents will also be invited to attend, learn and hear how players need to prepare for hockey at the USHL level.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Coaches, Players, and Parents:

The USHL is honored to be invited to speak with the Thunder AAA Hockey and the Junior AAA Hurricanes. AAA hockey is a major feeder to the USHL; we're here to support the leagues and programs that have been, and continue to be, so crucial in developing our future stars, and the future stars of the NHL and NCAA hockey. It's a privilege to have the opportunity to give back to the AAA programs represented this weekend.

The USHL is the pinnacle of USA Hockey's development model, and the USAH focus on excellence and progress at every level of hockey. The results of our partnership are amazing. Last year's 12- team league delivered an extraordinary 17 players to the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. 190 of our players received scholarship commitments to play Division I NCAA hockey. There are 110 active USHL alumni under NHL contract. There's truly nothing like us anywhere in American sport.

And we're working to get better. This season we grew to 14 teams, with the addition of USA
Hockey's fabled NTDP program out of Ann Arbor, and the Youngstown Phantoms based in
Youngstown, Ohio. We invite you to take a look at what great coaching, dedicated players playing at the highest level every shift, every night, and the best fans in hockey can produce.

We're looking forward to meeting you during the Thunder AAA Showcase - and we're extending an invitation to all players, coaches, and parents to attend the USHLSeminars on Saturday at the Holiday Inn Gwinnett Center. The seminars will be hosted by myself, together with Manager of Hockey Operations Tony Gill. We'll cover the following topics, followed by an open Q & A forum:

- Steps to becoming a player in the USHL
- What it takes to play in the USHL
- Benefits of playing in the USHL
- Coaches of the USHL
- A day in the life of a USHL player
- Opportunities available after the USHL

We look forward to seeing you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Tony Gill at (312) 546-7300.

Ellis T. (Skip) Prince
USHL President and Commissioner
